Tomato Varieties

Below are the tomato varieties that we have grown at Everfield.  Every year we grow our favorites and try a bunch of new introductions.  We taste test them side by side, compare meatiness, disease resistance and note special characteristics such as germination success.

We grow these outside without spraying.  The only time we spray is if we're in danger of losing the entire crop.  Therefore, our fruit isn't picture perfect which is fine with us.  Our pictures don't look like the flawless images you see in an advertisement but then we're trying to provide accurate information.  We keep it real.

2013 Favorites:

Quimbaya (paste):  Amazing late blight resistance.  We were hit with late tomato blight for the first time ever in 2012.  Really heart breaking but we took the opportunity to evaluate blight resistance in the tomato varieties we had planted.  Quimbaya was the best out of all 126 varieties planted.  Its a delicious, smooth firm sauce tomato from the Columbian rain forest**.

Nova Sauce (paste):  Our new standby for sauce is Nova Sauce.  Produces loads of medium sized beautiful healthy tasty fruit.  Starts early and doesn't stop until frost.
